The LOF ROADspec heavy duty solid mass flywheel (SMF) kit fits all Land Rover Discovery 2 Td5 (1998–2004) and Defender Td5 (1998–2006). It is a popular alternative to a new dual mass flywheel: it costs less, and LOF designed it to be more reliable and longer lasting.

It needs no modification, simply bolting onto the crank with the new flywheel bolts supplied. LOF engineered the kit to run without the vibration usually associated with Td5 solid mass conversions, and pedal weight is no heavier than original.
